Nemato Change a Life 2021

In April we donated a LED projector and screen for their classroom. It's a great help for showing the kids educational videos.
Change a Life

Nemato Foundation Cricket Academy

A few years ago we established cricket nets at the Nomzamo Secondary School in Nemato. Unfortunately the poles and nets were damaged.
At the first of April our treasurer, Gunther, went together with our new coach Thanduxolo to Nomzamo to discuss our plans.
At 30/4 we build new poles and nets. Preparing for a new season.

Mzansi Rugby Academy

Coach Barry Scharneck asked if we could take care of the restoration of the sports field at Nomzamo school.
Because we think sport is very important for the youth of Nemato, we have taken care of this.
The terrain is accessible again and sports can be enjoyed again.

Vakantieweekeinde Boknes

Every year we organize several holiday weekends for the children and caregivers of JJH Foster Home. Forget your worries and enjoy sports, games and the beach together.
They all go to Boknes twice a year. In the spring and autumn. They look forward to it all year round.
And true to tradition, Neels Bam always makes a delicious potjie for the last day.
Once again everyone enjoyed themselves.

Soup kitchen

As in previous years, we also supported the soup kitchen this year. We will continue to do so in the coming years because poverty in Nemato and surrounding townships is very high. The situation has worsened due to Corona.
We are very happy that there are so many enthusiastic volunteers in Port Alfred who ensure that warm soup is made twice a week and other food items are sorted and delivered.

Nemato Foundation Karate Academy

Since this year we started our brand new project, Nemato Foundation Karate Academy. Our coach Clive Naido who is widely known as the karate coach in Station Hill was eager to work with us.
In addition to children who pay a contribution to Clive for the lessons, we also support children from families who cannot afford it. We have therefore also sponsored the karate suits.
Training is held twice a week in different age groups.
In August we equipped the hall where the training takes place with good karate mats so that the children will not get hurt so quickly.
We have also purchased a lot of new equipment, such as punching balls, kettlebells and many other materials to make the training sessions even more challenging and varied.
On December 13, our board member Chainz went to Port Elizabeth with Clive and the pupils for their graduation . It was a very successful day and all children passed.
Just like the cricket kids, the karate kids also closed the season with a braai.

Nemato Foundation Cricket Academy 2

On May 22, our coach organized a T20 tournament for our cricket players. It was a great success. A match was also played on June 16. If there were no Corona restrictions, there is cricket training a few times a week, so that the children are off the street after school. Very important in the environment in which they grow up. An environment with many challenges.
On July 6 they received a whole new cricket equipment and in December we have provided the cricket pitch with a brand new carpet so that there can be full training again.
Also in December the cricket season ended with a delicious braai, they enjoyed also the results that the kids achieved together with their coach Thanduxolo.

We want to thank Thanduxolo’s mother, Priscilla, who is a big help to us. She takes care of the cricket whites and washes them after every match.
